Virtually Unprecedented Weight Loss Results
The weight losses of Wellspring campers are renowned for both initial and long-term results. Ever year Wellspring campers have averaged 4.25 lbs per week of weight loss. Most important, 70% of campers maintain or continue weight loss at home.
Since Wellspring Camps offer a scientifically-based approach to fitness and weight loss developed by leading scientific researchers, we collect and report initial and long-term weight loss data. These results have been presented at major scientific meetings, including The Obesity Society meetings in 2005, 2006,2007, 2008 and 2009.

In the 12 months leading up to camp, many campers have put on a significant amount of weight. This makes the long-term results even more impressive. In different follow-up studies conducted 6-9 months after camp ended, Wellspring campers continued to lose weight at home, shedding another 5-8 lbs., on average. An astounding 70% maintained or continued the significant weight loss achieved at camp.

LONGER TERM CARE FOR HIGHER WEIGHT LOSS
If you are deciding between a four, six, or eight-week session, consider the following graph and weight loss. The average weekly weight loss at camp is more than 4 lbs. The average weight loss for a four-week session is almost 20 lbs. and the average weight loss for an eight-week session is over 30 lbs.

Eight-week campers inevitably lose more weight while at Wellspring. Additionally, our studies show that eight-week campers lose more weight once they return home. The follow up study for 2005 campers showed that four-week session campers had maintained an average weight loss of just over 20 lbs. while eight-week session campers had maintained an average weight loss of just less than 35 lbs.
Wellspring campers have achieved nearly unprecedented short-term and longer-term fitness and weight loss results in the study of obesity and weight loss. As the foremost treatment options for adolescent overweight and obesity, Wellspring Camps and Wellspring Academies are the best programs for your child.
