Great Food that Campers Love

Wellspring Pennsylvania campers cannot be expected to continue eating the same way at home as they eat at camp unless they learn how to eat this way and find the food to be both delicious and nutritious.  Wellspring Pennsylvania campers learn that many common favorites like chicken nuggets, fries, and even cookies can be made low fat with simple substitutions or changes in cooking methods.  Equally important, the Wellspring teen diet is simple so children, teens, and young adults are able to follow it at home, and in restaurants, without requiring parental control, or forcing parents to play the “food police.”

Fat Camp Food

Campers are served breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks per day in a spacious, modern and very comfortable dining hall.  In addition to the “controlled” food served at each of the meals, there are “uncontrolled” foods available which campers can eat until full and satisfied.  These “uncontrolled” foods include fat-free yogurts, cottage cheese, soups, fruits, vegetables and condiments.  Whatever campers eat, the primary expectation is that campers self-monitor, or write down, their calorie and fat gram intake.
